addiction a human experience- book review
By Dr. Limor Ast
Well written, easy to understand, and practical. This book offers a balanced overview of the major theoretical information about important concepts concerning theories, models, and treatment of addictive behaviors. The authors present common traits to addictive behaviors as well as practical case examples related to a full range of addictive disorders including drug/alcohol addiction, gambling, cyber addiction, exercise addiction, shopping, and sex addiction.

The book is an insightful resource for both students and clinicians who may not be familiar with addiction and the process of recovery. While covering all of the essentials the authors provide guidance by presenting case examples that demonstrate how to address these issues effectively as well as information about recovery support groups. The book includes an inventory assessment scale that can be a beneficial resource to practitioners.
