I-Team After Hours
By Pat Fordyce
Janet Killeen is a severely wounded, recovering FBI agent heading to some down time at a Colorado resort called Scarlet Springs. She knew bad weather was closing in, but didn't count on it coming so quickly. Now she has run off the road, no cell service and her car has been buried by snow plows. Janet attempted climbing an embankment to at least get up to the road. With her damaged leg, it's impossible.
Jack West was heading to bring hay to his cattle in the storm, and noticed a car in a ditch. Passing it he notices back lights coming on and realized there was someone in the car. He climbs down and is shocked to see the young FBI agent he threw off his land some time ago. Janet is equally shocked at the sight of Jack West. He helps her to his truck and drives her back to his home. After a warm bath and a homemade batch of chili, Jack and Janet are catching up on their lives since their angry encounter. After a couple of glasses of wine, both feel the pull of attraction, but their age difference and Janet's injuries are holding them back. But, some people are meant to be together.
This is a novella, but reads like a complete novel. There is suspense, a beautiful love story and scene's that brought tears to my eyes. This series by Ms. Clare is highlighting stories of some of the I-Teams secondary characters. Judging by Janet and Jack's story we're in for some excellent reading! It can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading the full I-Team series. You won't regret it.
Ms. Clare also has a new release coming soon called Seduction Game. I'm anxiously awaiting getting my hands on that one!

Another great story from Pamela Clare
By ASMcB
I just finished “Soul Deep” and what a terrific story. It’s been a while since Pamela Clare has published a book and this one doesn’t disappoint. It pulls you in from the very beginning and begs you to say “I want more” at the end. “Soul Deep,” like “Skin Deep”, is an ancillary story to Ms. Clare’s I-Team novels featuring secondary characters from that series. We were introduced to the hero, Jack West, in “Skin Deep” and he made a brief appearance in “Striking Distance.” Janet Killeen, the heroine, was introduced in “Striking Distance” where she was seriously wounded as part of her duties as an FBI agent. “Soul Deep” picks up many months later as she is slowing pulling the pieces of her life back together again and steeling herself to return to duty, albeit as a desk jockey. Jack, a third-generation rancher, met Janet originally in “Striking Distance” and theirs was not an auspicious start to any type of relationship. They make up for it in this book. Both are mature adults, he is 63, she is 45, but the love that develops between them only proves that romance, heat, sex, and love are not limited to the young, but, perhaps, have a greater depth and intensity because of their maturity. Both have lived, loved, lost, and it is precisely those experiences that become the foundation for something rich and warm. The book has a bit of suspense – more as a plot driver than a focus – and there are laugh-out-loud moments that will remind you how important family is. And Jack is very definitely a family man. But above all this is a love story. It’s about two people given a second chance. It’s about two people learning to trust one another and overcoming fears. It’s about changes and taking risks. It’s about life.

Love this surprising story!
By pw reader
Soul Deep, An I-Team After Hours novella by Pamela Clare is a marvelously honest story about love later in life. I enjoyed this story especially the surprises at the end. This novella fits well into the series even though it is more of a low key tale instead of the high danger and action of the longer novels.
Pamela Clare seems to have bared her own soul in Soul Deep with the main character. Janet must deal with adjustments that she is having to make to her goals, dreams and overall lifestyle. I admired this strong woman who managed to keep a positive attitude while she persevered to recover from injuries obtained through her FBI career. I loved Jack as he helped her through her fears while allowing her to stand on her own. He had known love in the past and wasn’t afraid to embrace ot again.
Shot novella compared to some of the other stories in the series but perfectly satisfying. I have missed one of the books in the I-Team but it did not hinder my enjoyment of this story. It stands well on its own.
