Dr. Donald F. Kuratko (known as "Dr. K") is the Jack M. Gill Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurship; Professor of Entrepreneurship; and Executive & Academic Director of the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University - Bloomington. Good examples in the back, good questions, book is well laid-out. Excellent case studies - not the normal HBR ones students can just web search and get answers for -

Just don't.

If your class makes you read this book, easiest thing to do is not take the class. Seriously all the stuff in this book is things you should know if you are in business. Somehow Kuratko managed to spew things on a page and make people buy it. It's written like a sophomore in high school for his English paper.

Warne Geniology

I bought this book in two versions one for my Kindle, and a paper copy. Main reason for buying was that it is my family history from 1650 up through 1905. I have a Kindle app on my smart phone so when I am discussing something with a family member we can look it up. The paper copy is just for home reference. I am disappointed in the quality of the scan. It appears that OCR scanning was set when scanned, but then no one went back to check for the error that are created by the OCR scanner therefore many dates and words are gibberish. I can compensate for this by two methods one is that this book has been scanned both by Google books and by a Microsoft grant. Both of them are available as free down loads of the internet. I also have a Xeroxed copy from an original copy. The price for the paper back copy is two high due to the errors from scanning. The Kindle copy is the only one I would recommend to buy.

Poor Copy

They had the scanner set on OCR copy, but when they finished they failed to go back and correct the inconsistencies that always happen when using an OCR setting. I have a copy made from a library book back in 1979, if it were not for having that old unbound copy, many items in this book would be impossible to understand.

Pat Mullan was born in Ireland and has lived in England, Canada and the USA. Formerly a banker, he now lives in Connemara, in the west of Ireland.

My favourite Book of Poems

It's an amazing way of painting a picture from a really interesting life and Childhood of this irish author. For me it was sometimes intellectuall demanding and sometimes easy to follow. My Favourites are: 'The turning point' and 'Granny Bunty's Button Box'

Childhood Hills

The best piece in the book is "You Always Wondered." First, because it has a very deep personal meaning for me. But apart from that it has the three necessary ingredients of a good story, a good tale, a good ballad, or a good poem of this type: Emotion, Conflict and Tragedy. These are the things that touch our hearts and humanity. They've always been so. Shakespeare always used them, as did O'Neill in spades, and on and on; no need to cite all the others here, we could start with Homer and never end. Humor helps and I got a little grin, a little smile of recognition out of never flushing the toilet, however unsanitary that might be.
So there are your four friends: Emotion, Conflict and Tragedy flavored with a little Humor. All the other are secondary; Irony, Sarcasm, Cynicism, etc. I don't know of any who wrote well ironically since WW I. But I'm just a reader.

I am the author of "THE FEELINGS AND IMAGINATION OF A BAREFOOT BOY STILL INSIDE MY HEAD!: Poems and Short Stories for Boys and Girls Ages 9 to 12," which will be available online soon! I bought Childhood Hills to read another author's poetry. In Pat's book, here are several of my favorites: THE QUARRY HOLE, WE NEVER TALKED, BICYCLE RIDE, SMALL VICTORY, GRANNY BUNTY'S BUTTON BOX, and MY CAT (this one is by Annemarie Mullan Whilton). As I read, Pat's poetry created a vivid picture in my mind. The poems about Pat's childhood were particularly moving. Great Book Pat!

About the Editors

Thomas Rieger, DrRerSoc, has been the chairman of the standards council of EuropeActive since 2012. He holds a doctoral degree in social sciences with a specialization in sport science (German PhD equivalent) from the University of Tübingen and a master’s degree in public health. In 2007, he was appointed as a professor of sport management at the Business and Information Technology School (BiTS) in Iserlohn, Germany. At BiTS, he is the vice dean of the bachelor’s programme of sport and event management and the master's programme of international sport and event management. Previously, Dr. Rieger served as visiting professor at the Real Madrid Graduate School and the European University Cyprus in Nicosia. Before entering academia in 2006, he gained more than six years of experience in the fitness industry, especially in the fields of fitness marketing and quality management.

Ben Jones, BSc (Hons), is a founder and director of BlueSkies Fitness Ltd., a company that provides workplace wellness solutions to small- and medium-sized employers, offers learning and development consultancy, and manages the process of provider accreditation for EuropeActive. Mr. Jones has extensive experience in developing standards, qualifications, assessments and learning resources in the UK, Europe and UAE and has written for EuropeActive, Active IQ, VTCT, Lifetime Awarding and other organization. He is a master trainer for MEND, Momenta and TechnoGym and was one of the first PTA global faculty in the UK. Previously, he held the role of teaching and curriculum manager at Lifetime Training. Before entering the fitness sector in 1999 and going on to build a successful personal training practice and hold multiple fitness management roles, Mr. Jones studied physiology at Leeds University.

Alfonso Jiménez, PhD, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, FLF, is a professor of exercise science and health and the executive director of the Centre for Applied Biological and Exercise Sciences at Coventry University (UK) and a member of the scientific advisory board of UKActive Research Institute. Previous roles include professor and dean of the faculty of health, exercise and sports science at European University of Madrid (Spain) and main academic leader of the Real Madrid Graduate School; professor, deputy dean and head of school of sport and exercise science at Victoria University in Melbourne (Australia); professor and head of the centre for sport science and human performance at the University of Greenwich in London (UK); and chairman of the standards council at EuropeActive. He was awarded honorary membership of EuropeActive in recognition of his outstanding service. He is currently a visiting professor and international research associate at ISEAL at Victoria University, visiting professor at the University of Greenwich and chair of the research and dissemination commission at the Healthy & Active Living Foundation in Spain. Before entering academia, Dr. Jiménez focused on management, research and sales in the fitness industry.

About the Author
Kazumi Tabata is a Grand Master in the Shotokan and Shorinji styles of Karate. He came to the United States in the 1960s, and shortly after his arrival, established and still serves as the Chief Instructor of the North American Karate Federation. Master Tabata is the author of several books including Secret Tactics and Warrior Wisdom.

A must read for any serious Martial Artist

An 8th degree black belt, Master Tabata is the founder and head of the North American Karate-do Foundation - NAKF, in 1967, as well as of the New England Collegiate Karate Conference - NECKC, in 1968.

He is in direct line from the founder of the Shotokan style, Master Gichin Funakoshi. His teacher, Master Iso Obata, was one of Gichin Funakoshi's first students and the first chairman of the Japan Karate Association.

Master Tabata was sent from Japan to promote Karate in North America in late 60's. He has done so most effectively, building a large Karate organization in the North East. He was captain of the US Karate team for two decades, representing the US at many international tournaments. In addition, he was technical advisor to the US National Olympic Committee.

My job has taken me around the world and I have studied in and run school in several countries. Tabata is the best Karate instructor I have ever come across.

This book is a compilation of great wisdom and advice. One needs to keep referencing all the great passages and examples to consistently improve.I thoroughly enjoyed Mind Power and recommend it to anyone seeking more, and expecting greater out of themselves.

destined to be a classic

the one thing that people forget is that your mind is incredibly powerfull, this book reminds you of that , it tells how to tap into that part of you that will inabile you to do things you may have been told were impossible, be prepared to wake up and live up to all you can be, get this book and if you love somebody get one for them, the book is not only telling you about martial arts it is explaining how to handle conflict in general rather it be with a thug on the street .or in the office were you work. if your going to spend hard earned cash then spend on this book

Very happy with this book!

With the growing appreciation of curvy and plus size body shapes this book couldn't have come at a better time. I love the unique format because it doesn't just describe examples with random photos but gets more specific with over 50 photo shoots. The author includes posing, props, equipment, and shooting data for each session which is a wealth of information and inspiration. She also shares her tried and true poses that work for just about any woman.

There are ideas and tips for a range of body types as subjects in the book range from a size 14 and up. Even little things like the best verbiage to direct your subjects (like tactful ways to tell your clients to *suck their stomach in*) are covered. There are also a range of lighting situations and locations from studio to outdoors.

Because there are so many variations of beauty photography and portraiture, this book is actually useful to more than just boudoir photographers...for instance posing tips could be applied for wedding photographers during a bridal portrait session or portrait photographers who shoot curvier women.

Overall, a great source of inspiration and a must for any boudoir or feminine portrait photographer, whether newbie or seasoned pro.

This is a good book that shows the intricacies of posing larger women

This is a good book that shows the intricacies of posing larger women. The emphasis is on how to hide bulging parts. There are some great words of advice on a variety of little details on creating proper exposure and looks on people's faces. I would have given it five stars but I believe the premise of hiding bulges suggests that people with bulges are not pretty and special poses are necessary to hide troublesome places. I am more interested in exploring capturing the beauty of people regardless of their size and without hiding the bulges.

Essential as a posing guide of BBW boudoir

If you are shooting, or thinking of shooting, boudoir for plus size gals and like to have a handy reference of poses, Tammy has a great compendium of poses that rock for these gals. As a quick visual reference of pose choices for the bigger ladies, I like keeping her book close to hand. Her text is clear and crisp in demonstrating enough of the the why of the poses. Many of the poses repeat... As they should. There are some key repeating angles that work with the curvier women. So you get to see pose variations with different women in slightly different settings. to well illustrate the variations. A must have to save yourself countless hours of figuring it out yourself, while potentially damaging the self image of big gals whom you haven't caught from their best angles.
